I bought this for my son who takes occupational therapy at school. Since we are e-learning right now, I decided to recreate some of his exercises at home. This has been a very versatile set. Picking up the beads with a thumb and alternating fingers helps to strengthen his hand muscles. Using the tongs is more challenging so it helps him practice his fine motor skills. He has also created his own little games with them. He likes to sort the colors or create patterns under a time limit. I really appreciate that it comes in a sturdy box. It helps him to keep track of everything and he can store it on the bookshelf when he is finished.
I am addicted to the phone games that this appears to be based on. This is a fantastic real world alternative. You can play at solitary, you can play it with multiple people. It is truly Montessori and has endless uses, even math as counters on the tray. We just enjoyed a great game our students at school.
